Blur & Pixelate Image
Hide faces, license plates, names or account numbers before you share a photo or screenshot. Drag over each area to blur, pixelate or black it out — the photo is processed on your device and never uploaded.
Tip: for screenshots of bank statements, chats or documents, use “Black box” and save as PNG — text stays perfectly sharp everywhere else.
Frequently asked questions
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. Blurring and pixelating happen directly in your browser. That matters most for exactly the photos you'd use this tool on — faces, license plates, IDs and documents never leave your device.
How do I blur a face or a license plate?
Upload the photo, then drag a rectangle over each face or plate. Every area is blurred instantly; add as many as you need, move them, resize them with the corner handle or delete them with ×. Then download.
Blur, pixelate or black box — which is safest?
For text such as names, account numbers or addresses, use the black box: it replaces the pixels completely, so nothing can be reconstructed. Strong blur and pixelation are fine for faces and license plates, but light blur on large, clear text can sometimes still be guessed — turn the strength up.
Can someone undo the blur on the downloaded image?
There is no hidden layer to remove: the original pixels inside each area are replaced before saving. But blurred or pixelated content can sometimes still be guessed — short text, numbers and familiar faces especially. For passwords, ID or account numbers and anything else truly sensitive, always use “Black box”, which leaves nothing to reconstruct.
Can I blur the whole image?
Yes. Tick “Whole image” to blur or pixelate everything — useful for backgrounds, spoiler images or placeholder thumbnails.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Drag with your finger to draw an area. You can also tap “+ Add area” and then move and resize the box.
Is the photo's metadata removed as well?
Yes. The new image is saved from the pixels only, so EXIF data such as GPS location and camera details is not included — a second privacy win.
Can I undo a change?
Yes. Undo and Redo (buttons above the picture, or Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z) cover drawing, moving, resizing and deleting areas, “Clear areas”, and the effect settings.
