Frequently asked questions

Is my SVG uploaded to a server?

No. The SVG is drawn and converted in your browser. Nothing leaves your device.

How is the size of the picture decided?

An SVG is a drawing without a fixed pixel size. Imgovo uses the width and height written in the file, or the viewBox when they are missing, and then multiplies it by the scale you choose. You can also enter an exact width in pixels; the height follows the shape of the drawing.

Which format should I choose?

PNG keeps transparency and sharp edges and is the safest choice for logos and icons. WebP and AVIF give smaller files and keep transparency, but older programs may not open them. JPG has no transparency, so the background color is used.

Why does my text look different?

An SVG that uses a font which is not installed on your device is drawn with another font. Convert the text to outlines in your drawing program, or install the font, before converting. Files that need outside fonts or pictures cannot load them here.

What is removed from my SVG?

Scripts, embedded web pages, links to other sites and event handlers are removed before drawing, and the notice under the file tells you how many items were taken out. Shapes, colors, gradients, clipping and embedded pictures stay.

Is there a size limit?

An SVG can be up to 3 MB. The finished picture can be up to 8000 px on a side and 32 megapixels in total, so that your browser does not run out of memory.

Can I convert many files at once?

Yes. Choose several SVG files; each is converted with the same settings and you can save them one by one or together in a ZIP file.
