JPG to PNG Converter
Save JPG photos as lossless PNG files — ideal when you plan to edit an image several times, add text or graphics, or need a format that design tools and print shops ask for.
JPG photos are placed in the PDF exactly as they are (no quality loss), so metadata such as the location stays inside the PDF. To remove it first, use Remove EXIF Data.
How to convert JPG to PNG
- Drop one or more JPG files into the box above — or click to choose them.
- Each file is converted to PNG straight away, right on your device.
- Download a single file, or all of them at once as a ZIP.
Why convert JPG to PNG?
- PNG is lossless: editing and re-saving never degrades the image further.
- Sharp edges and text stay crisp, without JPG compression artifacts.
- A good base for adding transparency later in an image editor.
When this conversion makes sense
Use this when a program asks for PNG, or when you plan several rounds of editing and do not want the picture to be compressed again every time you save it.
Good to know
- Converting does not bring back detail that JPG compression already removed, and the PNG is usually much larger than the JPG.
- PNG can store transparency, but a converted JPG has none: the picture stays fully opaque.

Frequently asked questions
Does converting JPG to PNG improve quality?
No — detail that JPG compression already removed cannot be restored. PNG simply stops any further loss from happening when you edit and save again.
Why is the PNG file so much larger?
PNG stores every pixel exactly, while JPG throws away detail the eye barely notices. A photo as PNG is often 3–10× larger than the JPG.
Will the PNG have a transparent background?
No. A JPG has no transparency, so the PNG keeps the same background. Removing a background needs a separate background-removal tool.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser on your own device. Your images are never sent to Imgovo or anyone else.
Can I convert several images at once?
Yes. Select or drop as many images as you like. They are converted one after another, and you can download each file or all of them together as a ZIP.
Can I undo a change?
Yes. Undo and Redo appear above the list once you add files (or press Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z). They bring back a file you removed, undo “Clear all” and return to the previous quality or format — files are converted again automatically when needed.
Is the converter free?
Yes — free, with no signup, no watermark and no daily limit.
