Round Image Corners & Circle Crop
Give a photo soft rounded corners, or cut it into a perfect circle for a profile picture or avatar. The outside becomes transparent, and you can add a colored border.
Tip: most social networks show profile pictures as circles anyway — a square photo with your face centered works too. Use the circle crop when you need a round image for a website, email signature or presentation.
Frequently asked questions
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. The rounding and circle crop happen directly in your browser. The photo never leaves your device.
How do I make a round profile picture?
Choose “Circle”, then use Zoom and the position sliders to put your face in the middle of the circle. Download it as PNG — the corners outside the circle are transparent, so it looks round everywhere you use it.
Why should I save as PNG?
PNG and WebP keep the areas outside the rounded shape transparent. JPG cannot store transparency, so those areas are filled with the background color you choose.
Can I add a border?
Yes. Set “Border” above 0 and pick a color — a white or brand-colored ring makes profile pictures and avatars stand out.
Will the image lose quality?
The photo keeps its full resolution, and PNG is lossless — only the corners are made transparent. WebP and JPG are saved at 92% quality, which is lossy: the difference is very hard to see, but it is not zero. For the exact pixels, choose PNG. With Circle, the output is a square as large as the chosen area of your photo.
Does it remove metadata?
Yes. The new image is saved from the pixels only, so EXIF data such as GPS location and camera details is not included.
Can I undo a change?
Yes. Undo and Redo (buttons above the settings, or Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z) step back through shape, corner radius, zoom, position, border and format.
