JPG to AVIF Converter
Turn JPG photos into AVIF images for a modern website. Imgovo encodes each file on your device, so your photos are never uploaded.
JPG photos are placed in the PDF exactly as they are (no quality loss), so metadata such as the location stays inside the PDF. To remove it first, use Remove EXIF Data.

When this conversion makes sense
Use this to cut the size of JPG photos for a website or an app where page speed matters.
Good to know
- AVIF is often smaller than WebP at similar quality, but older software cannot open it. Keep a JPG for email and forms.
- Lower the quality step by step and compare at 100% zoom before you replace your JPG originals.

Frequently asked questions
Does JPG to AVIF improve the original photo?
No. AVIF cannot restore details already removed by JPG compression. Choose a high quality setting if the photo will be edited again.
Why does AVIF conversion take longer?
AVIF encoding requires more computation than JPG. Large photos can take longer on a phone; Imgovo processes them locally.
Can I use AVIF on my website?
Modern browsers can display AVIF. For older software, keep a JPG or PNG copy as a fallback.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser on your own device. Your images are never sent to Imgovo or anyone else.
Can I convert several images at once?
Yes. Select or drop as many images as you like. They are converted one after another, and you can download each file or all of them together as a ZIP.
Can I undo a change?
Yes. Undo and Redo appear above the list once you add files (or press Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z). They bring back a file you removed, undo “Clear all” and return to the previous quality or format — files are converted again automatically when needed.
Is the converter free?
Yes — free, with no signup, no watermark and no daily limit.
