Short answer: open Imgovo’s Collage Maker, add two to four photos, pick a layout, set the size, gap and background, and download the result. Everything happens in your browser, so your photos are not uploaded.

What the Collage Maker can do

The tool is built for simple, clean collages of up to four photos, not for scrapbook-style designs with stickers.

Setting Options
Layouts 2 side by side, 2 stacked, 3 in a row, 1 big + 2 small, 2×2 grid
Ready-made sizes News portal 900 × 600, two photos 16:9, social post 4:5
Aspect ratios Layout default, 1:1, 3:2, 2:3, 4:3, 3:4, 4:5, 16:9, 9:16 or custom
Custom size 200 to 8000 px per side
Gap between photos 10 px by default
Outer margin 0 px by default
Background A colour, or transparent for PNG and WebP
Output JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF

Each layout needs a specific number of photos, and the tool accepts two to four in total.

Step by step

  1. Open the Collage Maker and add your photos. JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, TIFF and more work as input.
  2. Choose a layout that matches the number of photos.
  3. Choose the size. Use a ready-made size for a news portal image or a social post, or pick an aspect ratio, or enter a custom size.
  4. Set the gap between photos and the outer margin.
  5. Choose the background colour.
  6. Adjust each photo (see below).
  7. Choose the format and download.

You can undo and redo changes with the buttons or Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Shift+Z.

Choose what shows in each cell

A cell is rarely the same shape as the photo, so something has to give. There are two modes:

  • Fill (default): the photo covers the whole cell and the overflow is cropped. Drag the photo in the preview to choose the visible area, or use zoom and the horizontal and vertical position sliders. “Reset position” starts over.
  • Fit: the whole photo is shown inside the cell, and the leftover space shows the background colour.

Faces and important details are what you should keep in view. Check each cell before you save.

Change the order

The order of the photos decides which one goes in which cell. You can use the arrows on the thumbnails, drag the thumbnails, press “Swap photos” or use “Replace photo” to change one image without redoing the layout.

Which size and format to pick

Where it will be used Suggestion
Social post Use the 4:5 ready-made size or check the size cheat sheet
News or blog article 900 × 600 ready-made size, or a custom 3:2
Printing or sharing with others JPG, a larger custom size within the 8000 px limit
Needs transparent gaps PNG or WebP with a transparent background
Smallest file for a website WebP or AVIF

JPG is the safest format for sharing. AVIF often gives smaller files, but some older programs cannot open it. For a comparison, read JPG vs PNG vs WebP vs AVIF.

Avoid soft results

If a small photo is stretched to fill a big cell, the collage will look soft, and the tool warns you when this happens. Use the largest copies of your photos, and do not set the collage size much larger than your photos can fill. For more on why enlarging hurts quality, see How to resize an image without losing quality.

If photos need different crops before they go in, prepare them with Crop Image first.

Privacy

The collage is built using the HTML5 Canvas API in your browser. The files never leave your device.

Do it now

Open the Collage Maker, add your photos and pick a layout.

Frequently asked questions

How many photos can I put in a collage?

Imgovo's Collage Maker combines two to four photos. Each layout needs a specific number of photos.

Can I choose which part of each photo is visible?

Yes. By default each photo fills its cell and is cropped to fit. You can drag a photo in the preview, use the zoom and position sliders, or switch to Fit to show the whole photo.

What file formats can I save?

JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF. JPG and AVIF use a quality setting that defaults to 92%. PNG and WebP can have a transparent background.

How big can the collage be?

You can set a custom width and height from 200 to 8000 pixels per side. If a photo would be enlarged to fill its cell, the tool warns that it may look soft.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The collage is built in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API, and your files stay on your device.
